Frequently Asked Questions

What is the vSummit?

The vSummit is an event that you can attend from the comfort and convenience of your home, office, or wherever else you can think of, through your personal computer or mobile device. With the technology available we are designing the event to enable and encourage you to collaborate, think and exchange ideas with your peers.

The live portion of the event is scheduled from Sept. 8-10. During this time we will have live Q&A with speakers, discussion breakouts and work groups. From Aug. 26-Sept. 7 we will open up the pre-recorded sessions for you to listen to at your leisure.

How do I add the event to my calendar?

That’s simple, click here. Please make sure you let your colleagues (and more importantly your boss) know you will be attending an event from 10 a.m. EDT until 4 p.m. EDT from Sept. 8-10. This way it will tell them you’re busy and hopefully limit the interruptions. Think of it as if you’re were leaving town to attend the physical event, but really you’re still snug at home!

What time zone is the vSummit schedule in?

All the vSummit times are in the US Eastern Time zone. We will start at 10 a.m. EDT and end at 4 p.m. EDT. Just to help you out, London is 5 hours ahead, Paris is 6, Moscow is 7 and Beijing is 12 hours ahead. If you want to check, this site is useful … www.time.is.

Do I need to do anything special to register for the vSummit?

No! Registration is simple, hit the register button and fill in the details required.

When will I receive the instructions for attending/accessing the vSummit?

As soon as you register you will receive a confirmation email. You will then be sent login instructions on Aug. 19, one week before the pre-recorded sessions open up. Make sure that the email address associated with your registration is accurate and up to date so there is no delay in receiving our communications.

What’s included in my registration fee?

Access to ALL the great content, discussion sessions, the vSummit Final Report containing a summary of all the issues discussed and a vHappy Hour invitation. As a bonus you’ll also receive an MCC care package prior to the event!

Can my computer or mobile device handle the virtual event?

It should! Most up to date computers and mobile devices such as laptops, desktops, and handheld tablets are capable of running the virtual event for you. Once you receive your login instructions, you will be able to perform a system check that will analyze your internet browser, internet connection, and network settings to be sure they are optimized for your viewing experience. If you have any problems, contact your assigned vSummit Concierge.

Who and what is my vSummit Concierge?

Someone who can help. When you receive your login instructions, you will be sent the name and contact details of your vSummit concierge. This helpful human will be available to you throughout the event to get you answers to technical problems or questions you may have. They may not know the answer personally but they definitely know who does!

What do I need to do on Aug. 26?

Get excited! This is when the pre-recorded sessions will be available for you to start listening to as and when you like. We encourage you to listen to the sessions prior to the “start” of the live event on Sept. 8 and either jot down your questions or submit them online. On the live event days (Sept. 8-10) we will be having live Q&A sessions with the speakers. This will enable us to maximize our time together.

What do I need to do on the day of the live virtual event?

Be ready! On the morning of the event, you will receive a reminder that will look a lot like the initial vSummit email that you will have received a week prior to the event. This will contain a link that will automatically give you access to the event page. Here, you will want to proceed to the program tab, and click Attend Session for the session you choose. The system will allow you into sessions 15 minutes before they start.

Do I have access to all of the sessions?

In a word, yes! Similar to if you were attending the conference on site, you will be given the opportunity to select which sessions you’d like to attend virtually. It’s up to you to decide which sessions interest you in a given time block and to attend those sessions as desired. You may attend as many or as few sessions as you want. And here's a huge benefit of us going virtual, if you miss one, you can always watch it later!

Can I ask questions during the educational sessions?

Please do. We encourage you to ask questions at any time using the Q&A tool or by virtually raising your hand (don't worry, we'll explain how to do that).

Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?

Hmmm, not really. For every paid vSummit registration, only one device (computer, laptop, tablet, phone) will be allowed to enter the event. With that said, there is nothing stopping you from attending the event and allowing your colleagues to enjoy the conference right next to you (6 feet apart obviously!) from wherever you are viewing the event!

Can I access and view recordings of any sessions from the conference?

You bet! Your vSummit registration includes access to all educational session recordings after the event concludes for a full calendar year. Don’t worry, you can view any sessions you missed out on as soon as the recordings for those sessions are made available. Your login instructions for the recordings will be the same as you used to access the pre-recorded and live content.
