Tandem Clinical Research has three full-time  research clinics in Louisiana with a mission to advance the science of medicine while improving the quality of life of patients. The clinics are part of a multi-therapeutic, independent, and dedicated clinical research site network that has conducted more than 400 trials in phases I-IV.

Tandem Clinical Research offers both inpatient and outpatient facilities in Phase II-IV sites. Services and equipment include:

Marrero Clinic - Adil Fatakia, MD, MBA, CMO

Adil Fatakia, MD, MBA, CMO, oversees the effective management of patient care in all of Tandem’s clinics in addition to being Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator on more than 150+ gastrointestinal trials. A native of New Orleans, he realized the “niche” of fatty liver disease studies in Louisiana and the treatment it lacked. Dr. Fatakia is Tandem’s best recruitment specialist, growing the networking database with new physicians and trial participants daily. He earned his medical and business degrees from Tulane University. He is certified in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Metairie Clinic - Gary Reiss, MD, MBA, MPH, Medical Director

Gary Reiss, MD, MBA, MPH, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and a member of several GI societies, including the American College of Gastroenterology. He is well-published in a variety of professional journals and has been featured in the “Best Doctors” issue of New Orleans Magazine. Dr. Reiss holds the position of Medical Director in addition to serving as Principal Investigator and Sub-Investigator on a number of studies. He has performed more than 1,500+ liver biopsies and has also contributed to the enrollment of 250+ NASH/NALFD participants from his private practice’s database.

Houma Clinic - Dr. Conor Fitton
Gastro Conditions

Dr. Conar Fitton is a Principal Investigator at Tandem Clinical Research’s network clinic in Houma, Louisiana. He is a gastroenterologist with over 20 years of experience. Dr. Fitton received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Notre Dame located in South Bend, Indiana. He then earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Dr. Fitton went on to complete an internal medicine internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He also completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee.
