An Overview:
Cedar Health Research is a multi-clinical trial site and patient network in Dallas-Fort Worth, Metroplex, Burleson, and Midland, Texas. It uses machine learning to match candidates to trials from partner community practices.
Through its unique operating model, Cedar Health draws its patient population from multiple large practice partnerships around its separate, standalone sites in Texas by integrating into the EMR of these practices and unifying all systems into a single pane of glass database, making the site capable of querying data at a granular level using the software technology. This allows for provision of accurate data driven feasibility and matching patients to clinical trials using specific protocol I/E criteria against structured and unstructured patient medical records and lab data. Then, Cedar Health conducts the trials at its site/s making the clinical trial process highly efficient. Cedar Health has a focus on recruiting diverse populations and has had success in enrolling under-represented groups in its trials.
At present, Cedar Health has access to 530+ physician practice EHR representing 1.8 million patients. This includes large and small physician practices, single practices and community centers. The organization also engages in patient referrals from primary and secondary care consultants, referral networks and patient outreach, including advertising.
Staff Expertise
Cedar Health Research has a diverse team of experienced clinical trial research professionals with more than 75 years combined industry experience. Their various background provides a unique approach of having a multi-lingual staff, with 7 languages spoken, that is patient-centric, and customer-service focused, which ultimately supports a larger inclusion of patients of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. Furthermore, the staff’s extensive medical training and research certifications help provide positive experiences to research patients, which ultimately supports and boosts subject retention in clinical trials. Additionally, the site has an emergency on-call clinical team available 24hours a day, 7 days a week, that supports quality service and engagement with research subjects.
Cedar Health has a centralized and dedicated patient recruitment center that supports acceleration of patient recruitment through the utilization of cutting-edge technology that yields high levels of recruitment and retention that are well above industry expectations. Through our technology partners, Aspen Insights, the use of AI patient matching platform, Aspen Forge, allows for direct connection with into our various practice partnerships’ EMR/EHR systems and LIS data to de-identify patient cohorts for advanced trial matching and recruitment.
Our Principal investigators have active community practices. Our Sub-Investigators are part of our full-time team.
To support the study participants, Cedar Health offers patient stipends and transportation assistance, through Lyft Healthcare, to patients during their enrollment period in a clinical trial.
