Overview
Connecticut Eye Consultants, previously Danbury Eye Physicians and Surgeons, P.C., is a physician owned, multi-specialty, ophthalmology group practice. We are dedicated to the organization, ethical performance and timely completion of quality clinical investigational drug trials. Our highly trained professional staff has a common goal: to promote the development of effective and safe medical products through Good Clinical Practices. This mission is accomplished through devoted patient-physician interaction and education. We provide patients with the opportunity to have access to new medications, which could dramatically improve their quality of life. Connecticut Eye Consultants has the capability to participate in phase I, II, III and IV research trials on an outpatient basis.

Facility
Connecticut Eye Consultants is located in northern Fairfield County, near the New York boarder. Our Danbury office is less than a mile from Danbury Hospital, which provides additional resources for patients who require it. Along with all our ophthalmic specialties (General Ophthalmology, Cataract, Retina, Cornea, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics) our Danbury office is equipped with a full-service optical shop and contact lens department. Our state of the art 15,300-square-foot facility houses a dedicated research suite, 23 examination rooms, 9 pretest/history rooms, a locked record room, study supply storage, PC systems for database development, wireless internet, and office management and administration space. Over the years, we have developed relationships with over 150,000 patients.
Connecticut Eye Consultants also has a satellite retinal practice in Prospect, CT and foursatellite general ophthalmology practices in New Milford, CT, Southbury, CT, Lakeville, CT, and Prospect, CT. In addition, we have ownership interest in Precision Laser in Cheshire, CT, an excimer and LASIK center, as well as a partnership interest in Danbury Surgical Center located within our medical complex. Danbury Surgical Center is fully equipped for comprehensive anterior and posterior surgical eye procedures.

Staff
Connecticut Eye Consultants have a dedicated Clinical Research Manager as well as Research Coordinators, Retinal Photographers, and Phlebotomists. Our Research team members are experienced in research, efficient and, caring professionals who are well-trained to treat study participants with respect and dignity. Their constant interaction with the Investigators assists in keeping the study enrollment on target, and documentation and correspondence timely to provide the Sponsor with clean, accurate data. Our Coordinators are BCVA and Refraction trained by Clinical Edge, Certifeye, and Ora. They are also certified in Good Clinical Practices (GCP), International Code of Harmonization Guidelines (ICH), and IATA Dangerous Goods requirements and regulations trained. All of our highly trained retinal photographers are DARC and VRC certified.

Patients
Our research population includes rural, urban and suburban patients ranging from infants to the elderly. The greater Danbury area also offers a diverse ethnic population. Connecticut Eye Consultants recognizes the success of every clinical trial hinges on the success of the recruiting strategies for identifying qualified and compliant patients. Our research center uses a variety of tailored recruitment methods including ICD-10 database searches, chart review, physician and community education, and traditional on-line advertising that provides a broad knowledge base about our enrolling studies. Various print and on-line advertising methods are utilized to meet enrollment timelines. This assures enrollment goals are met and clinical trials are successfully completed.
Our private research suite allows VIP experience while providing participants with the upmost care and comfort. Here our patients have access to a fully equipped waiting room with a plush seating area, Amazon Fire Television, WiFi, and light refreshments.
