iKnowMed Ranked No. 1 EHR in Oncology/Hematology

February 11, 2012
CenterWatch Staff

iKnowMed Electronic Health Record (EHR) System, a product of McKesson Specialty Health and the US Oncology Network, has been named the highest ranked overall EHR vendor for oncology and hematology practices by the 2012 Black Book Rankings Survey.

Black Book Rankings, a division of Brown-Wilson Group, is a full-service technology and services market research and opinion research company. The survey collected ballot results from more than 80,000 healthcare professionals in North America, including physicians and practice administrators, to find the top performing and most respected EHR vendors for 2012 in four categories—radiology, pathology, oncology and cardiology.

Out of 20 EHR vendors in the oncology category, iKnowMed received “overwhelming satisfaction and exceeds expectations” rankings in all 18 key performance areas and received the highest ranking in 12 of the 18 areas with an average score of 9.62 out of 10.

“Receiving top honors is significant because it... proves that an EHR developed by oncologists for oncologists really best supports their specialized needs,” said Mark A. Sitarik, M.D., medical director for iKnowMed.

iKnowMed is a web-based oncology-specific EHR that has achieved 2011/2012 Complete EHR Certification by an ONC-ATCB in accordance with Meaningful Use criteria. Clinical content includes point-of-care decision support with detailed cancer diagnosis and staging content, and a regimen library of more than 400 up-to-date cancer regimens. iKnowMed EHR supports clinical trial accruals for new and existing patients, provides access to level I pathways or evidence-based treatment guidelines, has integrated ePrescribing capabilities, a charge interface and has been proven to improve gross charge capture ranging from $35,000 to $86,000 per oncologist.
