Bangkok Hospital Group selects Elsevier's ClinicalKey

Bangkok Hospital and Bangkok Health Research Center, both part of the Bangkok Hospital Group, have selected Elsevier's ClinicalKey as their preferred online medical information resource to support clinical decision-making and medical research.

ClinicalKey, launched in 2012, draws answers from the largest proprietary collection of clinical resources, covering medical and surgical specialties. Health systems, hospitals, medical schools and clinics in more than 45 countries are using ClinicalKey.

The clinical reference search engine provides clinically relevant evidence-based answers, as well as expert commentary, MEDLINE abstracts and select third-party journals. The engine is powered by Elsevier's Smart Content, tagged with EMMeT (Elsevier Merged Medical Taxonomy), which enables ClinicalKey to understand clinical terms and thus discover medical content that is the most relevant, plus finding related.

"Since BDMS is an international super-tertiary hospital, the numbers of cases referred to us from other hospitals are increasing each year. This is one of the key factors that drive us to perform clinical research to find better treatment approaches. ClinicalKey provides useful and up-to-date information that help us reach our goal," said Dr. Paitoon Boonma, director of Bangkok Health Research Center.

The Bangkok Hospital Group, an operator hospital network throughout Southeast Asia, owned and operated by Bangkok Dusit Medical Services, expects to further ClinicalKey usage at other hospitals and medical facilities throughout Thailand.
