Global CRO Quintiles has completed its previously announced acquisition of Novella Clinical, a full-service CRO focused primarily on emerging oncology as well as medical devices and diagnostics.

Paula Brown Stafford, president, clinical development at Quintiles, said, "With the transaction now officially closed, we will focus our efforts on leveraging Quintiles' global resources and capabilities with the expertise and personal attention of Novella."

Now known as "Novella Clinical, a Quintiles company," Novella will operate as a unit within Quintiles, retaining its existing leadership team.
