CSG to include FSP staffing for clinical development

CSG, a privately-held provider of contract and direct-hire personnel to the biotech, CRO, pharma, medical device and site management industries, will begin offering FSP solutions, with dedicated teams to support a single client’s pipeline of clinical trials work.

Led by Marysasser Holloway, director, strategic partnerships, these teams will be based at CSG corporate headquarters in Raleigh, N.C., but will support sponsors nationwide.

“Functional service provision (FSP) relationships are attractive because they are tailored to an individual client’s requirements to address a function of the client’s business rather than a single protocol, study or trial,” said Holloway.

“Almost always, FSPs address the keys points of flexibility, scalability, quality, governance and cost. Most clients who engage in FSP models choose to do so for a few reasons: they choose not to fully outsource a program to maintain more ownership or control over the processes, they lack internal resources to adequately manage the work or they simply have more work than they can handle at any given time.”

“Because these models traditionally involve the use of sponsor systems and SOPs, clients see the FSP as an extension of their own departments,” said Holloway. “This close-knit approach better ensures consistency in process application and standardization of data collection while maintaining real-time access to that data. The sharing in the risks and the successes creates a unique bond between provider and client.  Managing responsibility, forecasting workload and planning for appropriate scalability make for a long-standing strategic partnership.”
