Strand Life Sciences has added Scott Storrer, former president and CEO of Genomind, as Strand Life Sciences president of North America.

Storrer will oversee strategy, expansion and operation of Strand Genomics, the wholly owned subsidiary of Strand Life Sciences in North America. Strand is a provider of technology innovations for personalized medicine using genomics in over 2,000 clinical and research institutions worldwide.

"Storrer’s experience in building and leading complex organizations, superb network of relationships and deep understanding of personalized medicine make him an ideal leader for Strand, as we scale up globally," said Ravi Venkatesan, former Microsoft India chairman and board member of Strand Life Sciences.

Storrer joins Strand from Genomind, a personalized medicine company providing molecular diagnostic tests in behavioral health, where he was president and CEO. Previously, Storrer was president and CEO of MEDecision and earlier in his career chief operations officer for CIGNA's Healthcare, Group Insurance and International divisions with $1.8 billion operating expenses and over 17,000 employees.
