A new CenterWatch analysis of the global clinical trial grants market, a critical measure of the overall health of the enterprise, reveals a mixed message: Industry-sponsored clinical trial activity has increased compared to a decade ago, yet growth in grant spending to investigative sites from both the government and industry has continued to slow significantly.
Eight years after the introduction of the first eClinical technologies, many sponsors and CROs remain uncertain about their plans to adopt newer and less common technologies, while use of more established tools continues to grow. More than a decade ago, Electronic Data Capture (EDC) created buzz among sponsors, CROs and software vendors, promising greater trial efficiency and an effective means for reporting results.
